Alongside the core team, a board of three members and a panel of judges and coaches support the OceanLove Innovation Awards.
Han Kempers
Treasurer
Han Kempers has been an HR expert for more than twenty years, contributing to the Reconciliation Chamber at the Mandela House and as treasurer at Bevrijdingspop festival in Haarlem.
Mpanzu Bamenga
Secretary
Mpanzu Bamenga is a Member of Parliament for the Dutch centrist party D66 and actively involved in Incleaders, an initiative by the German Marshall Fund focused on social sustainability.
Tamara Richards
Board Member
Tamara Richards joined the board in May 2023, focusing on OceanLove. She is an international expert in sustainability and biodiversity, organizing conferences and consulting organizations to strengthen policies on these themes.
Stichting OceanLove Foundation
OceanLove and the OceanLove Innovation Awards are officially initiated and organised by the Dutch not-for-profit Stichting OceanLove Foundation. Its goals, as described in the statutes: “Supporting the protection, conservation and restoration of nature and environment in the ocean worldwide. Promoting awareness regarding the state of the ocean and its effect on people, animals, and other living beings.”
The Board controls budget, progress and the use of the important non-profit principle: nobody is making any profits with this initiative — only the ocean gains benefits. All board members contribute their time and skills voluntarily, like all others within the OceanLove organisation.

OceanLove founder Ilco van der Linde is the chair of the Foundation and currently there are three other board members: Tamara Richards, Han Kempers, and Mpanzu Bamenga.
